Overall I thought this anime deserved a ten because of the reasons stated above, This anime is really enjoyable even if someone hasn't even seen the series that much to begin with. The story is great, the fight scenes are amazing, its humorous and dramatic. Unlike most shonen, this anime doesn't introduce secondary characters and then push them aside never to be mentioned again.
Even the supporting and secondary characters are well developed. The characters in Yu Yu Hakusho are well developed and have a lot of personality. And I recommend to watch Yu Yu Hakusho dubbed because the dub is really good. The intro and ending songs are pretty good. The soundtrack in this anime is unforgettable. The fight scenes, characters, and backgrounds are drawn pretty well. This anime was created and aired in the 1990's the art in this show is very good. The anime's pacing also is very good and it moves at a good pace meaning, that it doesn't move to fast and it doesn't move to slow. This anime also does not have a lot of filler, it has only 5 episodes that are filler. I gave the story a ten because the story was well written, entertaining, dramatic and it follows the manga very closely. Alright I have a lot to say about this anime but let me start by saying this, this is one of my favorite shonens and one of my favorite anime. You will relate to each of them one way or another. I didn't know that the music score was redone for the dub, and I'm still hunting for the soundtrack. I must have watched this series four or five times now.
